Roofing & Septic Field
Plenty of progress this week but plenty wet on site as well raining
pretty much every day. Late Friday last week we had the crane show up for
a preview to review the plan for the proposed lift on Monday. Conditions
were a bit risky but we were prepared and decided to lift the roof into place
just prior to dusk. All went well and the roof was lifted into place just
as planned. On Monday & Tuesday we did some of the interior walls, and
worked on filling out the balance of the roof. Thursday morning we removed
the old hay shed, it took about 30 minutes to move the lawn tractor and boat
but tool less than 2 minutes to remove the roof. Thursday & Friday we
installed the septic tank and field system, while the remainder of the crew
installed the balance of the roof sheathing. By the time of this writing
on Sunday we have 60% of the roof shingles installed. The plan for next
week is to complete the roof, install the balance of the windows, install all
drain lines and supply lines for the plumbing and install the duct work for the
furnace system. On Sunday the boys decided to use the rock pile to line the road and protect the septic field, then used the remaining rocks to line the driveway and the road to the neighbours house.
